Tonight as we sat down to dinner we received the wonderful news from our attorney that our documents have started to move! He sent me a text that he forwarded us an email. I went to get our computer. Four of the five adoptive families were together for dinner and we all anxiously awaited while I checked the email. And there it was! The email from USCIS in Honolulu with tracking numbers for all five packages. They departed Hawaii on Friday (our Saturday) and arrived in Hong Kong tonight (our Monday - your Sunday). We have no idea where they go next on their way to Manilla. We are hoping it is straight to the embassy there, but there could be another stop in another country first. This was such an answered prayer! Customs and Immigration processed all five families paperwork in the midst of a move even though they had told us they may not. Thank you to Michele at USCIS for the urgency and thank you to all of you for the prayers!
It was so exciting to get this news while we were with the other adoptive families. We were actually giddy! One adoptive mom said she was so excited that we should all celebrate with dinner at the Tide Table. This is, in fact, practically the only place we ever eat dinner so there were tears of laughter at this remark. It has been a wonderful night and uplifting for all of us to know there has been some progress!
I will keep you posted as I check several times a day to follow the path of our precious cargo!

ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo...praise the Lord!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure you guys have been on! Enjoyed catching up on your blog, as I lost the address and just got it from Toni. Rickson is adorable - can't wait to see him. Will make Chris and Chase dinner when I see that they are home.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your documents being forwarded! We have enjoyed keeping up with your blog and your interesting experiences. Rickson is adorable. Looks like Chase is enjoying being a big brother. We pray that you will continue to feel better and that your pink eye will heal. We hope your time there continues to go well. Nicholas wants to give Chase a few tips on being a big brother (you know because he has 4 months experience now!).
